Jean Barbary of Evanston, IL
asks:
Q: I go to the beach every weekend and haven't seen many HC players. Where are they?
A: Jean, thanks for writing. This summer has been a slow start
for The HC. Many things have gone wrong, slowing our progress into 2007. First, Gunnar Stapp quit is job as a money laundering
banker, and after a short legal battle, he's now on the road to financial recovery. Darryl Nash has been working again on
his Memorial Tennis Circuit, and just when he gets close someone (almost) bagels him and he suffers a crushing setback. Luiz
Sobrinho has been parading from beach to beach on the northside, and Greg Lamonica has been making the rounds at North Avenue.
Don't worry, Jean - the party's almost started.

Parker Billups of
New
York, NY wants to know:
Q: I'm coming to Chicago
in August. Where's the best place to play beach ball?
A: Parker,
this is a great question, and there are plenty of options. If you speak Spanish or you like people who do, head to Montrose
Beach - the location of our first Chicago gathering of 2007. If you play within your own roster (if you know what I mean),
try Hollywood Beach, thong optional. If you're wearing designer beachwear and $200 sunglasses, try Oak Street Beach (and eat
at Johnny Rockets afterwards). Of course the hotbed of beach volleyball in Chi-town is North Avenue Beach. But be warned -
you're not a regular, so you don't exist.

Franco Beldar of
Coral
Springs, FL writes:
Q: I am wondering why
many of the players go to different social gathering spots while on tour. It seems that Greg and Gunnar are in one spot, while
Darryl and Luiz are in another. What’s the logic behind this?
A: An
interesting observation, Franco. I think they best way to explain is this: Picture yourself in the setting in which you noticed
Greg and Gunnar hanging out, kicking back with a few beers and watching the ESPN monitors. Then, imagine yourself at the place
you saw Darryl and Luiz migrating from room to room full of men, spending too much time ogling the exotic dancers and gyrating
to the pulse of dance music. Have you answered your own question yet, Franco?
